A kitchen worker at UK-based Draughts boardgame cafe was allegedly fired after union members delivered a strike ballot notice to the store's owners.
“This case demonstrates the shameful lengths some employers will go to in order to intimidate and silence their workers.”
A huge thanks to all those who stopped by our @gameworkers.co.uk booth at Develop. We had an amazing time meeting members and workers in the industry - and although I lost my voice from chatting so much, it heartens me to know so many others are finding theirs, and working together in solidarity.

I was struck by the relevance of these words from John Ruskin, one of England's most celebrated artistic thinkers 🎨. Although he spoke these words over 160 years ago, they feel eerily applicable to the videogame industry today. Not a pithy quote, but one some of us could certainly learn from... 🙏
