Thanks Davuth!
Oh nice! I missed that demo. I'll search for it and keep an eye out for your post.
Thanks for all you do.
If you get to it... you'd have at least one reader 😂
If not... completely understood
hey @snell.zone ... I heard you talking about your iPhone, iPad, FinalCut setup on @macbreak.bsky.social and the Upgrade podcast. Have you published about it (or planning to)? Didn't see anything on sixcolors.com... another source to learn more? Thanks!
This doesn't really hit the demotivated with career thought though. For that one, I'd go back to why you're doing it and how it aligns with your values and goals.
You're also right that the other part of that is telling people about your product. I really, really want to get better at this. In that case, I'd recommend Simple Marketing for Smart People by Billy Broas (bookworm.fm/214/)
Not stupid at all. Your response clarifies things though. You want to help people. Part of that is making a good product. For this, do you have people who will give you *honest* feedback? What do you beta testers say?
Mike describes this often via his idea of having a Life Theme that grounds all of your work. In the workshops I lead, we have folks work through their core values and then attempt to align their activities with at lease one of those values. The more alignment the better. Hope this helps.
To learn? To advance professionally? To solve a need? To make money? To get famous? If you can clarify that, it will probably help with the feeling of meaninglessness. The work you're doing isn't meaningless or else you wouldn't be doing it. That said, the meaning it's providing might be misplaced.
Hey Davuth... sorry for the delay. It's been a busy start to the semester. I'll think about a specific book recommendation (nothing is popping out); however, I think setting aside some time to focus on your "Why" would be really helpful. Why are you creating the things you're creating?
As leaders, we must set realistic expectations and develop environments for flourishing.
We still need to challenge those we lead. But demoralizing expectations and chronically under resourced personnel won’t be as joyful (and productive) as they could be.

I’ve been working through Robot Theology by Joshua K. Smith in my Advanced Technical Topics class the last few sessions.
The discussions have been excellent.
It’s really encouraging the students to think critically about #AI and #robots.
Especially as seniors at the end of the semester.
Just using linear optimization software to position queens on a chess board.
It’ll be another fun class today.
