11.11.2025 16:57 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0On Remembrance Day, I think of my grandfather, Daniel Alberta McCoy, a WWII gunner, whose plane was shot down over Belgium.
His story reminds me that remembrance is not just about war. We must honour those who served by committing ourselves to peace, justice, and humanity.

Their campaign didn't spend time courting hyperlocal community leaders.

institutional investors really need to start planning to divest from this company, if the consumer rubes want to pay him a trillion dollars to keep driving the company into the ground, let them drown

Black-and-white photo taken by Norm Martin of preteen Dylon posing for the chopping block with a historically-costumed staff person at Festival du Voyageur in the early 2000s.
My dad died three years ago.
Here's a photo of him with Mr. Lahey & Randy when they visited Thompson circa 2008.
2nd photo he took at Festival du Voyageur in the very early aughts where he asked one of the historically costumed staff to pose for a morbidly-construable photo.
They need to reboot Peep Show except make Mark Corrigan a cynophobic, soft left social democratic teetotaller who drinks diet pop by the litre and has strong opinions on land use.
This is my opinion for no particular reason.
I think there are people who decide to run because they think they should be leading, and want an elected office to prove that to everyone. But what got so many of us excited to show up for Emma was she was already leading, often in quiet ways, always in community-building ways. (3/)

Plus turquoise really was the best of the colours out there.
A strong, positive campaign was well-received by Elmwood-East Kildonan voters.
We now have a diligent, collaborative, and hyper-competent listener in @emmaewood.bsky.social representing Elm-EK at City Hall. Couldn't have wished for a better result. 🙂
Heart beat hate, work beat whining, relationships beat rants, shoe leather beat lawn signs. Elmwood-East Kildonan won big last night, and so did Winnipeg.
