Cozy Collared Peccary! It does have a lot of fluffy hair, but could it have MORE hair?

They are made of so much hair and this just does not capture it. One time at the zoo someone sneezed and all of the peccaries just fluffed up and they were SO. SO FLUFFY.

Such cool photos!! Did the beetle escape minus one leg? Or is that just the camera angle? Either way being picked at by a caracara and living to tell the tale makes one lucky beetle!!

Styled like a textbook. "Cave Satyr Care: A Guide to Mutations and Morphs Pt 2. There's an illustration of two Cave Satyr busts on the first page - one with wavy hair, one with coiled hair. Text reads, "Fur Texture: Curly and Coily fur is completely ethical and decently common in Earthborn satyrs. However, please be aware that failure to meet the advanced grooming requirements for these types of coats is a form of neglect and punishable by fines. (see the grooming guide!)" It continues, "Do NOT attempt shearing unless you are licensed to do so. Cave Satyrs are not like domestic sheep - they will shed their coats periodically. Shear only when absolutely medically necessary (severe matting, tangles, mange, etc.)" A head-up illustration and ugly diagram of a fullbody, furless cave satyr follow. Text reads, "Regarding 'Vaxisian' Satyrs: Velvet and completely furless Cave Satyrs, although very popular, are very susceptible to illnesses due to a linked gene that weakens their filter organ. They cannot safely socialize with coated Cave Satyrs. To clear up confusion - 'Vaxisian' satyrs are not natural to the Vaxisi region. The morph's name is a creative choice by breeders, based on other furless Luminates in the region." On the next page are similar illustrations - a sad looking cave satyr with clipped antennae. Text warns that scam breeders will clip antennae and say that a satyr is a hypocapetesian, but that these are exceedingly rare and unlikely to be real offers. The text recommends reporting them. Next is one with curly antennae - "Candelabra" satyrs. These ones don't have health complications but it's advised to regularly detangle their very curly antennae! The final bit is on tail docking, and specifies that rounded tip, fully-furred short tails are naturally occurring, but that flat-tip, partly furred "pufftails" are docked and subject to chronic pain due to removal of the caudal bulb glands. I FULLY confess that I'm getting too much of a kick out of making "rare" original species traits that come with lore costs. Yeah you can have a rare furless cave satyr! It'll come with a respiratory disorder :) Lightless? Sure! But you probably got scammed!

I'm a dog owner, I love my dog, I think he's too dumb to hunt and he has really good recall. I cannot FATHOM letting him off leash in public, let alone at a nature park. Just because "nothing bad has happened" doesn't mean we should play with fire when it comes to pets. Sorry this happened. :(

I've made a point to not speak to certain family anymore, because the way they've engaged with me makes it clear there is nothing I can say that would sway their support of the current administration. But at times like this, I really wonder how they reconcile it all in their heads. Brains are scary.
