Since only the 'skin' on the outside is opaque, I figured out that if you take a diamond burr to it, you can strip it off and light it from the outside. This is getting closer to what I want.

I'm going to need some brighter LED strips.

Lighting it from the middle is neat, but not great in the infinity mirror setup. (Also, I promise it looks better in pictures than it does in reality!)

Still trying different things - haven't landed on something that really works yet.

That's definitely going to need to be brighter - it's also hard to take a video of!

One of the more ludicrous (but delightful) boards I was given at #Supercon was this one - the CapKey. It's a capacitive-touch keyboard the size of a keycap.

This is mostly a thought experiment, and LEDs have long been used as useful indicators in oscillator circuits, but LED noodles can be a useful tool to help "see" what's happening in a circuit.
