An unconventional advice for those on TT market: Consider negotiating a set of funds to help others. I + others have negotiated $$ to host diversity-related events at conferences and for community outreach. We often think startup $ is just for our own research and lab, but I want us to think bigger.

To paraphrase @lrkhazem.bsky.social, proof that I actually scienced over the last four days and wasn’t just eating tapas. The IASR/AFSP Summit was phenomenal! Great research happening globally to better understand suicide and its prevention, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.
Now for vacation!
I’m disappointed in all of you.
I believe that women should take up space. I also believe that we should work to make the spaces we take up kinder and more inclusive for those who will take up that space after us.
