Filthium Zero

I still feel the bass from the soundtrack in my soul. The SFX of this game is top notch for immersion and impact! It's relatively simple bullet heaven with a lot of action and objective management. It's good for a different feel to the genre.

Unfortunately, too Vamp Survivors-y for me. BUT, incorporating their Songs of Conquest mechanics of Essence gain into attack formation management and landmarks translated into map interactions is great worldbuilding and very unique!

Mechanics: this game captured my attention HARD! Roguelike cards, not just draft. The CARDS are different each run! I could build them, change my deck comp between runs. Incredible!

Tinker Shot

I was CACKLING the whole time. Turn-based spellbuilder deckbuilder with PHYSICS?!? What a treat! Outside of some QoL tooltips and a more comprehensive codex, this is complex and SATISFYING. I mean...REALLY satisfying.

I've had this on my list for a while. It's a very unique monster drafting game that will have multiple gameplay modes that alter your approach to the base game. It feels fresh and incredibly representative of different cultures with a tasty flare!

Arms of God

What a METAL game! It's gritty and owns the "kill for God" atmosphere. It goes beyond a bullet heaven with converting weapons into upgrades and customizing ANY stat or element in your loadout. It's not afraid to let you get out of hand. Love it!

For me, the memes obscure the enjoyment. It's got promise, but it lacks the in-game stats and visual clarity that I tend to look for in my games, especially in combat. Punching 100 duck-sized horses is great! How did I do it? No clue.

For NextFest26, I think this will be the game I refer to as the "did what it set out to do" gold standard. It's got its own spin on the "number go up" challenge and does it cleanly and with flare. It's a great time and that's enough for me!
