6 days have passed since a divisive far-right activist and speaker died from a gunshot wound. Since that day it would seem there are those who consider him a martyr whose life was taken for speaking the truth. I, for one, would rather honor someone whose actions and words supported freedom for all.

I'm at a loss for words. Hate begets hate. Discrimination begets discrimination. Violence begets violence. Unless we break these vicious, seemingly self-perpetuating cycles with empathy, compassion, kindness, patience, and understanding, we will continue to reap what we sow.
