When do we stop using time frames that ignore Black woken and start recognizing how long this has been going on

And start doing the work

Folks need to be HONEST about why this took so long

As horrified as I’ve been by the New York Times, Washington Post, New York Post, Wall Street Journal, etc., this election cycle’s been a great opportunity to invest in outlets like @thecity.nyc @hellgatenyc.com @boltsmag.org and so many other local and wider mags charting a better path for media

I am taking particular pleasure in the complete collapse of trans-as-unbeatable-wedge-issue narrative this morning. It might be an 80-20 issue in voters minds, but it has to be on voters minds to matter. The results in VA demonstrate that it is very much not on voters minds.

Didn’t even take 24 hours for billionaires to decide they aren’t leaving New York after all.

He'll make mistakes and be imperfect but when it's sabotage, name it loudly. Don't let people forget who is really screwing them. The robber barons can't abide hope. So hope. Remember what tonight feels like and keep it alight. Keep showing up when they screw with buses and zoning. Hold the line.

From bitter experience, capitalism will cheat, bribe, set traps, and flood the zone with stories of 'ordinary people's dissatisfaction'. This win is a beautiful and hopeful thing and the energy that drove it must be kept up now. He'll need your support even more now. Hold the line.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.
