Public testimony opportunity today to share what you think our schools are experiencing. #akleg
29.01.2025 21:46 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0I don't think it is entirely safe for me to do so.
29.01.2025 20:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0ICE is in Juneau. They say that they are more focused on drug trafficking than "illegals", but I would not trust them. Carry identification ALWAYS.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
I've heard rumors that ICE harassed an Alaska Native in Juneau.
29.01.2025 06:00 β π 16 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Huh. Alaska's anti-education governor is encouraging people to call in tomorrow and speak against HB 69. He even included talking points you can read at the link! You should call in too, but please do take the unusual position of actually voicing support for our schools. kthx #akleg

25.01.2025 04:21 β π 14 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm getting my tribal ID. I've never felt the need to carry one. I'm scared now and I'm scared for my relatives.
If you are Native, please get your tribal ID or proof of Native blood ASAP. Do not let these fools take you.
A letter from Rez. The fear in Indian Country USA is real. Itβs not good when tribes are comparing Trump to the genocide era. No one should have to ask: βWill I need a passport to leave the reservation?β - an actual question tribal admin is dealing with now.

If someone calls me a snowflake, I take it as a compliment.
This one grew where rapid branch growth was favored after falling from a different environment. I focus stacked many separate photos to get it all focused. To my naked eye, it looked like a tiny fuzzy ball of ice.
The constant bombardment of bad news just gets to be too much sometimes.
25.01.2025 04:16 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My heart is breaking. The world seems so ugly and I just don't feel strong enough to fight it right now.

21.11.2024 23:52 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Many native people are forced into finding creative ways to make money. All of this is due to the introduction of colonialism.
The government forced us into this new way of living and they are punishing us for trying to survive it.
With less opportunities to hunt and fish, native people are being forced to rely on groceries that are too expensive for their communities. The cost-of-living is too high, and there are not enough opportunities to make money.
20.11.2024 18:01 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Before the introduction of colonialist America, indigenous people have lived on this land for over 10,000 years. Opportunities for substance living has dwindled and is continuing to dwindle due to the destruction of natural habitats caused by colonization.
