Note to Future Self:
(Since it's Thanksgiving weekend and I actually have some spare time to jot down some archival notes for myself)
I can't believe there's a new song from The Format! Also, this new Bon Iver album is really good. I forgot how much I loved that Ezra Furman song, and it is a hot take to think that "IDGAF" is Dua Lipa's best song? I think it might be. Why aren't The War and Treaty more famous? They're incredibly talented. I think the Post Malone / Fountains of Wayne combo is my favorite style of country song. Very Gram Parsons. Also, I'm clearly still on my Lana Del Rey bullshit, but that's just a fact of life these days. Whatever the hell that album is gonna be called, and whenever the hell we get it... my poor wife is going to be so sick of hearing LDR playing every time she walks into the room. I'm sorry in advance. (Also, I think I'm going to start using the alt-text to secretly leave notes for my future self 20 years from now when my fading memory relies entirely on Letterboxd and this.)

From 2005-2011, I sent a monthly mp3 playlist to my friends. It's been 20 years since that first month, and I've been feeling nostalgic. I think it's time to revisit (and archive) that exercise in the streaming era.

A ★★★★ review of Audition (1999)

Apparently Dead or Alive was the only one of his movies I had previously watched. Because of that, the entire first half of Audition was an unexpected slow burn.
If you do end up watching Ichi the Killer, let me know if you think I would like it. The poster is seared into my brain.

I was today years old when I learned that “Pink Cadillac” was originally a Bruce Springsteen song. I’m gobsmacked by this information (and by the fact that I did not already know that).

As a Counting Crows fan for the past 30 years, it’s indescribably weird to be witnessing this album roll out.
1st Decade: Amazing albums (Made me a fan for life)
2nd Decade: Spotty at best (With an album I actively dislike)
3rd Decade: Shaping up to be an exciting new era (Much to my surprise!)

Loren Kramar Is Ready for the Limelight
Off the back of his powerful debut album, “Glovemaker”—and as he gears up to release an album of Lana Del Rey covers—Loren Kramar talks style, sincerity, and the benefits of being a late bloomer.
If you have ever wanted a Lana Del Rey tribute album with songs by a combination of Cat Stevens, Jeff Buckley, ANOHNI and the Johnsons, and Father John Misty you should check out this Loren Kramar EP of Lana covers. Also, his album is fantastic too. Best of 2025 so far.

Since you mentioned in the comments that the edible will be kicking in half way through, I would say "My Man Godfrey," "The Wolf House," or the Velvet Underground documentary. All three are fantastic and worthy of the milestone. Each would likely fit the mood (in very different ways).
