so I totally get it! and usually when I’m feeling bad I am drawn more to unhappy endings and darker fics whereas if I’m already happy I can enjoy a happy ending

I love the journey (which is why I love enemies to lovers) but the minute the tension in the relationship is resolved I get bored 😅 and ik there can be outside sources of conflict but I prefer to read deep POV with lots of inward conflict

I like the idea that w silvergifting for example you can imagine what it is for them to stay stuck in manipulation and abuse, or for celebrimbor to survive, or what it would take for annatar to be redeemed and their relationship to end up in an equal place, and you can explore a lot of dynamics

yes exactly I have become more aware over the years that what I like to read and write is informed by my preconceptions and experiences! I have wondered if writing could be a good therapeutic exercise to get myself out of my comfort zone and write something “healthy”

idk where this thought was going tbh but it’s a cool subject and one I think about A Lot in a personal and specific way as I attempt to do therapy on myself (with limited success)

i have many thoughts and feelings that i will not be able to express rn lol (and i am always doing self discovery) but i do think i use reading and writing to explore kink and sex when I don’t feel comfortable to do so with my body but it’s like. very specific dynamics and situations.

this topic is very interesting to me as someone who is 1. somewhere on the ace spectrum 2. someone who has and does experience weird gender things 3. someone into sexual kink and 4. someone who writes kink
