About a year ago I received a message, out of the blue, from an ex, telling me one of their parents was dying.
I'd met said parent, we weren't fans of each other, but I was happy I'd been told. It enabled me to try and give comfort when it was most needed.

For the first time in quite a long time, I've finished a short. 3300 words that nearly make sense.
I'll edit next weekend, then send it to the place I have in mind.
It'll probably suffer the same fate as 99% of all stories sent, but if I don't send, I'll never know.
