Learning point from EM conference: In patients with syncope then an ED EKG with a conduction abnormality (Brugada, HCM, ARVD), we must assume the rhythm at time of syncope was vtach. Vtach without a pulse is cardiac arrest. This is a post-ROSC patient! Treat accordingly!

What will the ED NOT do: Fix you (There is no fix), Diagnose you (we dont routinely test for norovirus), or tell you exactly how much longer you will be ill (normal is 3-5 days).

What will the ED do: Make sure no underlying emergencies or complications are present, symptomatic care (make you feel better, usually nausea medication and fluid - by mouth if you can tolerate it), and try to get you home to continue outpatient management.

When to go the ER: Cannot take any fluids for several hours, Lethargy (not able to interact appropriately), significant pain.
