When it rains, it now rains more.

For those experiencing the flooding in south-west England, it is worth remembering that rainfall in winter has increased by about 25% overall.

And, the rainfall has also become more intense: when it rains, it now rains more, increasing the risk of flooding.

On NPR on Friday, there was a story of a 4-year-old--an American citizen--who hasn't left her house since early December, not even to play in the yard. And her 8-year-old brother recently stopped going to school, too. Their father is undocumented, and the family doesn't want to risk him being taken.

Government accused of 'suppressing' report warning of catastrophic climate risks The Times reports unabridged version of security services' analysis sets out 'reasonable worst case scenario' where climate impacts trigger mass migration and conflict

Quick thread on how it is shocking the government has supressed this report, but it is equally shocking that anyone should be surprised by its contents.

The airspace above the North Atlantic is dominated by long-haul flights, which accounted for 40% of contrail warming but only 10% of European departures in 2019.

Small route adjustments to avoid the atmospheric regions where contrails form would significantly reduce contrail formation.

Data centers were 40% of PJM capacity costs in last auction: market monitor Data center forecasts β€” beyond existing data centers β€” made up 45% of the $47.2 billion in capacity costs in PJM’s last three capacity auctions, according to a report by Monitoring Analytics.
