I’d rather no one score that much again in the NBA. 70 points or above usually involves something sketchy, like the intentional fouling. Plus it puts KB in the headlines again and brings his stans out in force, which is never good.
Right…
On the other hand, the thing I like about Adebayo game is that he broke LeBron James’ franchise record. 🤭
Corey Brewer
Career average 8.7 points per game
Career high 51 points
Tony Delk
Career average 9.1 PPG
Career high 53 points
Bam Adebayo
Career average 16.1 PPG
Career high 83 points
In the NBA, you never know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Jaylen Brown’s response to a no-call against the Spurs earned him back-to-back technical fouls and the second ejection of his career on Tuesday night. The Celtics had Brown's back following their loss.
“He was 100 percent right. www.celticsblog.com/boston-celti...
I'm a #SASpurs fan & also have some 💚 for Celtics bc of ex-Spur DW, plus RH Jr's baby bro is a Spur. The 2 techs/ejection pissed me off as well! I thought it should have been challenged. Unfortunately, you really don't know how much of a push by looking at it, I can't anyway. I just know refs suck
I agree completely. We would've beat the Spurs. We had great chances throughout the game to win. Ron Harper Jr. also played amazingly well and he made up for not having Pritchard.
Jaylen Brown, 0 free throw attempts and ejected from the game for yelling at the refs, learning that Bam Adebayo shot 43 FTs.
Jayson Tatum on Jaylen Brown’s ejection:
“National TV game, two of the best teams in the league, and you make a big deal about stars playing, then you (get) trigger-happy and throw somebody out the game, I disagree with it.”

I'd bet on him setting 83 illegal screens in a game first!
Joey got suspended for that. Suyesh Mehta, probably not.
Before tonight, if the average NBA fan had been asked to rank every player on their chances of scoring 83, it would’ve gone like:
1. Luka
2. SGA
3. Ant
4. Jokic

334. Bam Adebayo
But Jalen Rose probably feels a little better tonight.
You can take the boy out of Rhody, but you can't take Rhody out of the boy.
I saw in person Larry get ejected in the first quarter at home by referee Billy Oakes. Bird got called for a foul and bounced the ball off his head soccer-style. Boom, gone. Ridiculous. But Cs won the game.
Sure, but overall when two teams at that level are battling, it's obviously a tough blow to lose your best player for no good reason.
Welp, that ship has sailed.

Against the Knicks, who were terrible back then. But you're right, tanking wasn't invented yet.
Some were calling this a Finals preview. If it happens, and if the Celtics get to the line a fair amount, and don't have one of their stars thrown out by an idiotic ref, I'd like their chances.
Bam had 36/43 FTs tonight on the way to 83 points.
FWIW, when Wilt scored 100, he went 28/32 at the line.
If you were to say karma is on the Celtics' side now, I wouldn't argue.
Derrick White 3rd quarter: 7/12 shooting, 4/5 FTs, 1 block, 19 points (a bunch of them in Wemby's face). Masterclass.
Imagine having the sack to throw out a star player in the middle of what could be a preview of the NBA Finals for some bullshit because YOU made a bad call. I'm a Spurs fan, but this is total loser shit from the refs.
And third quarter, Derrick with 2 more and Neemy with 2. Almost like the refs are sympathizing. (Nah, not really.)
DWHITE REVENGE GAME IN PROGRESS.
With Jaylen now out, Tatum has to resist trying to win it himself. He's not ready to carry the team. Needs to draw the defense and kick to shooters, like JB was doing. Opportunity for a huge statement.
I don’t usually get worked up enough to yell at the TV for a regular season NBA game, but my reaction— like Jaylen’s— seemed appropriate in this case.
THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Last game between them, Spurs shot 20 FTs, Celtics 4. Tonight so far (late Q2) it's Spurs 12, Celtics 2. And now Jaylen gets tossed -- maybe he was sick of all the uncalled fouls SA has gotten away with.
Haus-Money x 2 so far, and it's still early. @travisrohrig.bsky.social @kylecelt33.bsky.social
