Hooboy this year’s are kicking Daddy’s ass today.

The highlight of the birthday weekend. Sparklers, singing… to an empty chair. While we were focused lighting things, the birthday boy took a bathroom break.

This past weekend we celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday. This is me making dinner for 22 people and looking way more confident about it than I actually was. Thankfully, everything came out edible and even had some fans.

His wife can tell her children, “Babies, Daddy died fighting for the right of another man just like the one that murdered him to one day pick up a gun and murder you or maybe even me. What’s important is that man’s right to the gun.”

Charlie Kirk died in service to becoming a statistic he so admired: those sacrificed to gun violence so that the Second Amendment could not only prevail but thrive.
