Since Election Day, many have asked what’s next. While I don’t have that answer yet, I know my commitment to North Kansas City continues.

North Kansas City will always have my heart.

Nothing is done alone. To everyone who supported me, shared ideas, asked hard questions, or simply believed in the work we were doing, THANK YOU! Your trust meant everything!

What drove me every day was the people and businesses that make North Kansas City the special place it is. It was the chance to help, to listen, to solve problems, and to try to make life better for someone.

Whether it’s streets and sidewalks, housing and parks, safety and economic developmen, it’s where government meets everyday life.

There’s no greater honor than earning the trust of your neighbors to help lead the community we all call home.

To me, being mayor is the highest office of public service, the pinnacle of government. Local government is the government closest to the people. It’s where you are amongst the decisions you make daily.

Over 113 years, councilmembers and mayors have come and gone, each leaving their mark. I’m proud to have played a part in that history over the last 8 years, building on the work of those before me and helping prepare the way for those who will follow.

It has been an incredible honor to serve the North Kansas City community over the last 8 years.

Since 1912, North Kansas City has been shaped by people who care about their neighbors and our businesses that believe in our shared future.
