Famous authors being bribed is the only explanation I could think of for some glowing blurbs I've read. They induced me to read - or try to read - several steaming piles of book-shaped garbage so now I don't trust author blurbs. Or critic reviews, or goodreads reviews, OR word of mouth.😞
