I wanted to get a video of this ghost crab but every time I got close to their hole they scuttled back in, so I tried getting clever with it. I made a little sandcastle and shoved my phone into it, hit record, and walked away. Crab was VERY suspicious of this addition to their environment.

Spouse and I basically take turns spiraling or crashing, and then holding the other up when our turn is over. This is all just SO MUCH. ALL THE TIME.

I’m curious what other suggestions people might have - another contender might be dandelions… another incredibly persistent “weed”.

Since the thistle is considered a pest by rich people trying to cultivate the US into sterile landscapes, I think can nicely symbolize the class warfare at play.

I also think the spikes should represent the working class. The rest of us. Because we should make them nervous. Be a menace.

This is a plant Native to North America, and has been considered a weed, deemed unsightly, something to be removed.

It’s massively important to the pollinators of this land. Plus, thriving in harsh conditions is as American as it comes for those not at the top of the economic food chain.
