My weekly "Favorite Comics Collections / Trade Paperbacks" This week BLUE BEETLE: JAIME REYES by Giffen & Rogers. This is a wonderful book featuring a mostly-Latin American cast, an intact family, loads of snark, and brief bits of gratuitous nudity - what's not to love?

I rather liked the book. Was not aware of any controversy, nothing remotely offended me. Gorgeous art, fun twists to established canon, and an earth that benefits from the amazon way.

For 2025, I will promote a favorite album each week. Week 39 STRANGE FRONTIER - ROGER TAYLOR My favorite cd by my favorite Queen (sorry, Freddie). Roger has a scratchy, world-weary voice with an impressive range. Excellent drumming! There's a lot of anger & pain here, but also hope. Superb!

My weekly "Favorite Comics Collections / Trade Paperbacks" This week STARSTRUCK by Lee & Kaluta. This is a funny, wildly inventive, frustratingly opaque at times but always fascinating book. Scandalous for 1984, a bit dated now. I LOVED this when it came out, I still quote from it to this day.
