Internalized autistic meltdowns, let's talk about them.

First of all, they can and absolutely do often look like they sound.

But they can also look like absolutely nothing.

It's World Mental Health day today.

Lately, I've been having a major ongoing wobble that almost got seriously bad the other night.

I have general anxiety disorder and was diagnosed with depression as a teenager. Therapy helps. Talking helps.

I poured my experience into a book I have on submission

We are not trivialising LLMs.

Copyright theft is not trivial.

Environmental damage is not trivial.

Unreliability is not trivial.

Risk to human cognition is not trivial.

Ignoring consent when shoving it into every fucking thing while making us pay our hard-earned money for it is not trivial.

This is a great piece, but I wish it focussed less on autistic children and remembered autistic adults also exist. The final paragraph suggests the writer knows this, but as usual it's largely framed as a "childish thing"

Maybe @theguardian.com could consider hiring an autistic writer next time?

Delighted to reveal 'Magic, Maps, and Mischief'.

This has had quite the journey to publication. Want stories about neurodivergent people finding one another in a world trying to limit them, writing *by* and autistic person.

The main image shows four arrows; three are pointing up, and coloured white, while the fourth is coloured yellow and pointing to the side
