Lovely morning for a walk around Staunton Harold and Calke Abbey.
Lovely weather for it! Well done Meg - what an achievement!
Are you a beginning / trainee #historyteacher? Think history can help young people reflect on issues of truth and justice in a complex world? Want to share your ideas with others?

What does good geography look like in a rapidly changing world? @geography-emma.bsky.social on lessons learnt from research into young people’s concerns and the GA’s Quality Mark scheme for schools. NB: it includes extra/co-curricular provision #GAConf2025
Fab photos Alice - I hope you enjoyed the lecture and conference more broadly. Lots of great practice being shared in the geography community.

Looking forward to reading Schooling Reimagined - is schooling for human reclamation ‘able to conserve and protect our own consciousness and mental space’?
No mechanisms for this currently, we would have to send out something to individual providers, but these often get low return rates as they are not centrally sent like the DfE returns.
Why are all these universities emailing me about the QS Global Academic Survey? Y'all would be great if, in the words of @hollyjeanbuck.bsky.social, you had fewer administrators and more faculty, and stopped operating like private equity and real estate empires with education as a side hustle.
Hmmm - not sure I would define the total rise from 822 to 863 as a ‘big increase’. The target was 945 in 2022/3 and 2024/5, but jumped to (a very unrealistic) 1485 in 2023/4. Had it remained at 945, this could be described as a slight rise of 4% from 87% of target.
Lovely to see the deer at Charlecote coming together for collective warmth.
Don’t you just love seeing images of places from above. London, curtesy of Mr Smith.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum responded to Trump’s proposal to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico by pointing to a 17th century map of greater Mexico and suggesting a new name for the US.
“We are going to call it América Mexicana. It sounds pretty, no?”
Trump is a global laughingstock. 🤣
I had joined, but not done anything further. However, the other platform has just become so unpalatable! So here we all are 😊
