Furious and 🤮 and 💔

I came home from school, and all of the posts are about this. I cannot bring myself to watch. The look on Zelenskyy’s face tells me everything. Even without having ever supported this administration, I still feel shame, mortification. We -THEY are betraying good and decency. What horrors.

The brown dress is new, and came from World Market. The other dress is about 4-5 years old and came from that store we used to love, but they went off-target. 😉

Another 15 minutes of Duolingo, and laughing at myself stumbling over the hard words -omdat ik vindt Nederlands spreeken zo leuk.

A whole load of laundry washed, dried, and put away. Beautiful hens, and enough eggs for a birthday dinner. A gift wrapped and dropped off in the post, on its way to Wisconsin. Received a beautiful card all the way from Hawaii.

I miss feeling hopeful. I miss believing that our country was flawed, but full of good intentions and possibilities. I miss friends, making happy plans, and waking up with soft, comforting thoughts.

Friends are gathering here, more and more. What a happy development.
In celebration, I want to share something sweet -Maria and I met a dog this week, and his name is Henry. He’s just as calm and charming as he looks. I am utterly smitten.

As a child I lived, briefly, in Esquintla, Guatemala. We visited Antigua.

Grace is big. She is Big BIG. It’s a problem.

Alex cut down the bamboo. Now the goats are helping us mulch it up.

This fellow has found my bird feeder and the shrubs where all of the sparrows and finches and doves shelter. He’s made at least three attacks, that we know of. I’ve read that the best thing to do is stop feeding the birds for a time, so the predator gives up on stalking them.
