It’s a scam.
Another favor to the Russians by Trump.
❗️G7 countries agree not to lift sanctions against Russia amid Middle East war
🇫🇷 The rise in oil prices caused by the war in the Middle East does not justify lifting sanctions against Russia, French President Emmanuel Macron announced after a remote G7 meeting.
⚡️Russia earns additional 6 billion euros in fossil fuel revenue as oil prices soar amid US-Iran war, analysis finds.
FACT:
Rising oil prices enrich oil rich Russia.
And will help Russia replenish their war coffers.
Trump did this.
Putin is grateful for Trump's help.
Russia rakes in $150mn a day in extra revenue from surging oil prices
Also: Bessent announced today that we’re relaxing more sanctions on Russia. The US will allow countries to buy Russian oil stranded at sea

1. Donald Trump starts a war with Iran, deeply unpopular with the American people, that causes oil prices to spike.
2. Trump allows Russia to sell its oil at those inflated prices, giving Russia far more money for its war with Ukraine.
3. Trump is Russia First.

I think I would go further. Look at who benefits financially, and there you will find the real reason for it happening.
Just to help the Russian economy to get back on its feet.
Russia has gained a boost of $1.3–$1.9 billion in additional oil tax revenue as global prices surged due to the Iran War, the FT reports.
Given the current debate about new British Bank notes, may I propose:
🤔
British cultural icons is a great idea - because we have many more of those than we do admirable politicians.
In case you aren’t quite getting the comparisons of Putin’s army to Nazi Germany, even after Bucha, Mariupol, the stealing of thousands of Ukrainian kids who’ve been sent across Russia to be reeducated, the rapes, the murders, the executions, the use of “foreign contract soldiers” to clear mines-
What a dignified spectacle. The worst people in the world somehow manage to gain brutal authoritarian power, and then support each fighting wars costing countless billions and, collectively, hundreds of thousands of lives, just to put off being tried in domestic courts for criminal offences.
You may wonder if this was the point of it, and you should.
In every manuscript and bit of marginalia you can sense the frustration at film not being invented yet.
There’s a lot of ridiculous stuff written about Vikings. This is mine.
Last year I worked as a fact-checker on the Real Vikings podcast (Noiser), narrated by Iain Glen.
The first episode is now free, exploring the Viking Age from Ragnar Loðbrok and Harald Hardrada to the wider Norse diaspora from Constantinople to Vinland.

Hello there.
Latest video out here. This one was a bit risky in some ways: youtu.be/BX_Lt12rgNs
Films and medieval stuff. Or films about medieval stuff.
Love that poster.
The Viking Dead!
Y’know, maybe I’ll just post about films for a while.
The Iran war could be a boon for Russia, experts say, as turmoil in global energy markets changes the calculus for the world's largest petrostate.
Trump is making the repressive Iranian regime richer. It’s now exporting more oil through the Strait of Hormuz than before the war, according to tanker-tracking firm Kpler. (WSJ)
Farage is like a dodgy builder turning up at your house, which you know needs a bit of work, and trying to convince you to just knock it down completely and start again.
I was hoping that post would end ‘…off a cliff’ but your version is more humane.
Is the NHS a failure? Let’s get the facts on that, and then compare them to the big US picture that Farage would love to usher in.
Farage won’t do this. You know why.
I have had dozens of interactions with the NHS in recent years, from minor matters to the most extreme. Almost always fantastic.
