That one person who came to my “Welsh Curses” talk who suddenly realised they were, in fact, not going to learn how to cuss out their neighbours in Welsh. And instead how to make their life hell with charmed cheese:

In case you’re interested: The radio documentary was part of the BBC World Service’s “Heart and Soul” series. It’s available to listen to now on BBC Sounds and such!

People messaged me to let me know that my story, and my words touched and moved them on a visceral level. That the experiences shared help give words to experiences they have also had.

And that’s what I’m choosing to focus on. Not the nastiness. The joy, the love, the magic of it all 🥰💖

I was recently featured in a BBC radio documentary which explored modern Druidry.

When the BBC social media pages shared about the documentary, the comments were flooded with all sorts of nastiness.

But my inbox, instead, was flooded with love and support. What a dichotomy indeed.

What a week it has been!

After almost 8 years of living in Chester…travelling back and forth to visit family on Anglesey, and missing home so very much…

I am back on my island home! We moved back last Friday, and my heart is singing with joy 🥹

To this new chapter!

Hi everyone, Kristoffer here, venturing onto this platform to see what it's all about, is it worth the time and effort? Or just another password for me to misplace and forget :-)

Ooh gosh that’s always a tough one! I personally work with both with no issues (usually for different reasons!) But my personal recommendation would be: If you already have a good relationship with Arawn, perhaps ask Him how He would feel about it! Ask for a sign or indication of how He’d feel.

Yeah? Well, I asked the Mari Lwyd and she said “stop rotting your brain, and BRING ME ALL YOUR BEER!!!”

Historical fiction that draws on Welsh Witch lore?! Yes please!

This new book by Mari Ellis Dunning is out now! Set in the early modern period, following a woman who approaches a local wise woman for help.

Incorporating Welsh witch lore and inspired by real history. A lot of fun for sure!

In Welsh lore all pigs originate from the Otherworld. Cattle and cows are deeply associated with fairies. Many denizens of the Otherworld travel with their hunting hounds. Animals often act as guides to the “other”.

When people envision “the fae” they almost always imagine a humanoid being. From elegant elven riders, to goblin-like household fairies.

But terms like “fairy” are a broad term for all otherworldly entities. And that includes otherworldly animals.

Fairy cows, dogs, horses, and pigs are a thing!

My brain still cannot fathom that not only have I had enough determination to write three books, but that they’ve all been published too! 😂😅 as someone who struggles to motivate myself to breathe correctly most of the time, I am rather proud!

🌸 A sprig of Mugwort carried in your coat pocket will prevent fatigue.

🌸 The vervain root, when powdered and placed in a silk pouch, carried around the neck, will supposedly cure all diseases.

🌸 Seaweed when hung up in the kitchen will banish all evil spirits.

Some Herbal/Plant Based Charms and Folk Beliefs from Wales…

🌸 White Bryony, known in Welsh as “Meipen Fair” or “Maip Bendigaid”, planted in the front garden will ward away evil.

🌸 Elderberry leaves plucked at night rubbed on warts then burnt cures them.
