text-to-speech rides the line because there *are* ideas generated in the performance of a line, but i think for pure narration, people can accept it

the vast majority of narration on youtube doesn't really make choices anyway. it's all just video essay voice or tiktok announcer voice

it seems like the wall where a.i. starts getting shitty is when it starts influencing ideas. actually writing the story, creating the visuals, designing characters, etc. all that's trash.

but i think people are chill if it's purely doing grunt work (eg interpolating between keyframes)

peering into the future-- i wonder if realistic text-to-speech for narration will be the first new a.i. thing artists accept

it gives privacy to smaller artists, it can sound decent with minimal editing, it still requires the artist to write the lines and edit the audio, etc.

This is weakness. They can't stand being protested so they're going to bring absurd charges against protesters they know they can't sustain in actual court. It's going to tie up massive amounts of resources while real crime goes uninvestigated. This is pure intimidation and trying to instill fear.

Heritage Foundation has released an absolutely insane policy proposal to label all trans people as domestic terrorists. It uses completely made up instances of terrorism and made up statistics but facts don't matter to them.
