Tbf to me, I wrote about the Happy Mondays bassist although Mani is a massive Manc legend. I did actually have an idea for a character based on him.

As a newcomer to @caimhmc.bsky.social's work, I've finally caught up on the podcast back catalogue - and I think this is my favourite short story so far!

Thanks but STP was very clear on not wanting anyone else to mess with Discworld and I think everybody should and will respect that. Luckily he left an amazing trove of books that only get better with each reread.

They are both independently created monsters. Slow horse predates the stranger times books and Banecroft was in the The Strange Times sitcom script I wrote decades ago that formed the basis of the books. Tbh he’s more me ripping of a cross between Bernard Black from Black Books and J Jonah Jameson.

Massive shoutout to Waterstones Stockport - got my own table! Fab support for a local writer. Signed copies of all my books now available and copies of the brand new stranger times newspaper.
