06.05.2025 08:26 — 👍 5 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Exhibition in the Old Library. The Old Library will be open today (29 April) and Thursday (1 May) from 10am-4pm. The exhibition is inspired by the theme of this year’s St Edmund Hall Community & Giving Week: #GiveItYourHALL and the 1317 Challenge. In the exhibition case will be items marking significant moments in the history of the Hall since our first mention in the rent rolls of Osney Abbey in 1317, including evidence of a bitter academic dispute about the name and origins of the College, the original Library rules and a relic of our patron St Edmund. Also on display will be record-breaking and significant works from the collection including the Library’s oldest book, the most recent addition to the Library and the best-selling work by an Aularian author. All welcome! If you can’t come on either day please contact Library@seh.ox.ac.uk and arrange an appointment.
