it might have looked like they were 'just pacing' constantly but they weren't

i don't think that would matter much. whatever gains you got, he will make it up

they already explained that they did try to make it difficult: they went full power (for them) and it just looked like pog was on a training ride so when they had nothing left in the tank they had to stop for a while

those are your options when pogacar starts. the only counter to this are other aliens: mathieu during the onedays and vingegaard during GT's/stageraces. (and remco in ITT but doesn't really apply here)

- if you isolate tadej from his teammates, he will just go on a long solo&win
- if you attack tadej he will counter you and win with a solo
- if you 'help' his team control the break, he'll win with a 30-40km solo
- if you don't help his team control the break, he'll win with a slightly longer solo

i know it's easy to just dumpster on teams for "helping" pog/uae but like. belgium at euro's did a complete different strat (isolate pog from slo teammates) and they got mocked for it as well

at a certain point people just gotta realize that no 'strat' will help against pog if he's just that better
