i will never stop drawing. it would be tantamount to stopping breathing. but i am also acutely aware how little i breathe nowadays. and it kind of breaks my heart, i think

Comic page 3. The artist pauses, glancing down at the poster on the metro station wall, which shows a new upcoming comic book release. They turn and walk away. Narration: " 'I could draw ten times better than that.' 'I could've done that too if all I had to do in a day was draw.' 'What's the point anymore, anyway? Post my art just for nobody to care and AI crawlers to scrape?' I keep having such thoughts, bitter, ugly, self-serving thoughts. ...Oh, gods. I'm becoming my father, aren't I?"

Comic page 4. A series of panels show the artist's hands opening the door, cooking, doing the dishes, cleaning, and finally plugging in their phone which shows 23:54. The atmosphere gets progressively darker, and the final panel shows the artist in bed, in the dark, staring blankly at the ceiling. Narration: "And really, what do I have to whine about? I'm lucky to have a stable job that pays the rent and bills. I think this purgatory is punishment for my cowardice as I, daily, choose to lose a part of myself." The page fades into darkness, with the final image being a dialog box that says: "Untitled has been changed. Do you want to save it?" The button highlighted is "Do Not Save".

It can be really hard to advertise my work because it's so deeply personal to me, but I wrote these in part to give myself hope through some really difficult times, and maybe they can bring that to others too. ❤️

"artists should charge more!" then pay them. Do comission them. tip them what u think they're worth.

Artists wont believe they are worth money until u give it to them. They know what it's like to not have much, & hope everyone can afford their art. SHOW them they CAN ask more. Don't just Tell them.

This panel is followed up with a final rueful line of narration from Lucien: "If only something could be done about his personality."

it's so hard bc now i'm drawing primarily OCs i made with my partner and they're all so incredibly personal and precious to me. i'd feel so much more devastated if those were stolen by AI hacks, than i would be if my fanart was stolen. that's why i'm so hesitant to post at all anymore
