Anytime you see a press release, media report, etc, use the word "detainees" - IMMEDIATELY correct it. A "detainee" is when you get pulled over on the highway and are waiting for the cop to run your license. Someone held in a cage is a "prisoner". Correct that swiftly, and often. Language matters.
