In reality, it was just called the World Series, and it was to proclaim the best in the world. The New York World never published anything about the series. The story about its name was entirely made up by Nick Auf Der Maur in the Montreal Gazette in the 90s. This myth has just spread everywhere.

I really enjoyed your blog. As someone who does CrossFit, I’ve seen firsthand how both play a role in progress. Motivation is what gets me into the gym after a long day, but discipline is what keeps me showing up consistently and pushing through the tough workouts when I’d rather quit.
