If someone in the Yukon doesn’t know who RICK SWARD and his band KINGSWARDFISH are, the chances are very high that they have not been in the Yukon for very long. Rick brings that veteran presence to the Yukon roster at the 2025 Atlin Arts & Music Festival.

At once elemental and unearthly, JAY GILDAY’s voice is a raw and gorgeous siren of the Canadian north, fusing hymnal anguish with driving rhythm and blues. Jay threads together the colours of his own ancestral traditions: Dene spirituals, Irish ballads, and Canadian folk and rock.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
MADDIE B-TRAPLIN is a born-and-raised Yukoner, deeply connected to the midnight sun and the vibrant spirit of the North. She blends heartfelt vocals with accompanying guitar and piano to deliver a folky country sound that resonates with audiences.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Legendary Vancouver music critic, Tom Harrison, wrote of JOEL BATTLE, “With this EP [Dead Man Walking], Battle confirms that he should be considered one of this country’s most promising songwriters.” Joel’s LP, Slow Learner, was one of Tom Harrison’s top-10 albums of 2010.

CALEB TOMLINSON AND THE PERSEIDS play lyrically-driven, alt-country, and indie-folk music that is distinctly rooted in place: haunting harmonies and textured strings weave stories of love and heartache through the seasons and landscapes of the north and the west coast.

NAOMI KAVKA brings a myriad of influences to her songs - a daring indie-rock sound that is musically polished, lyrically visceral, and emotionally raw, coming from the unique perspective of a queer woman, a child of a refugee, a resident of the precipice of the wilderness of Canada.

Genre-defying troubadour, DANNY MICHEL, is making his 3rd AAMF appearance. The 2x Canadian Folk Music award winner, 3x Juno nominee, and Polaris Music Prize nominee’s most recent single, Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself, was CBC’s TOP 20 #1 voted song of the year in 2022.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
THE SURFRAJETTES are a four-piece instrumental combo from Toronto. Since forming in late 2015, the band has charmed audiences with their clever mix of psychedelic rock and reverb-drenched surf music, sky-high beehives, go-go boots, and eyeliner as thick as their guitar strings.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
DIGAWOLF grew up in the remote community of Behchoko, the capital of the Tłı̨chǫ Nation, located in Canada’s Northwest Territories an hour outside of Yellowknife. He won the Best Male Artist of the Year award at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards in 2005 for The Earth is Crying.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Critically acclaimed Dawson City-based folk singer-songwriter, JOEY O’NEIL, is bewitching audiences across Canada with hauntingly heartfelt anecdotes from a queer, woodland life. Her third album, Phantom Vibes (2023), is available on all streaming platforms now.

RTIST SPOTLIGHT
Yellowknife’s MIRANDA CURRIE experienced critical success in 2015, when the Canadian Folk Music Awards nominated Currie for Aboriginal Singer-Songwriter of the year for her debut album Up In the Air. She also records kid’s music with a northern Indigenous flair.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
JAMES MURDOCH’s artistry grew from a deep connection to the rugged north into a career defined by soulful roots-rock and honest lyrical narratives. Over the years, James has released 4 multi-award-nominated solo albums, earning several nods from the Western Canadian Music Awards.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
You may be surprised how many STEVEN AND THE EVENS songs you already know. As the former co-frontman of the platinum selling, 6-time Juno nominated, Vancouver rock band THE ODDS, vocalist/guitarist/songwriter STEVEN DRAKE’s voice will be instantly recognizable from 90’s CanCon hits.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Spencer Burton wrote most of his latest album in the north woods in a small off-grid cabin. The songs speak to ordinary life away from it all, sitting with your own thoughts. “It’s really interesting what pleases the ear, musically, when isolated for a few weeks at a time.”

Valdy has two Juno Awards (Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year), 7 Juno nominations and 4 Gold albums to his credit. He is a member of the Order of Canada and best known for his classic hit, Play Me a Rock and Roll Song.

Cat Clyde is a Métis singer/songwriter based out of rural Ontario, Canada.
A combination of driven, soulful blues and sweet, folk-tinged, dulcet tones that carry a particular sense of familiarity provide the structure on which she creates her unique sound.

We are thrilled to welcome Vancouver's LIMBLIFTER to this year's Atlin Arts & Music Festival! The Big Shiny Tunes alumni and writers of hit songs such as "Screwed It Up," "Tinfoil," and "Ariel Vs Lotus," are currently promoting their fifth album, "Little Payne."
