Green Card Interviews End in Handcuffs for Spouses of U.S. Citizens

To make their quota, ICE is now arresting spouses of US citizens who are in the country legally and who have passed all background checks, have no criminal records and are just waiting for their green card to be issued. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/26/u...

My husband’s visa expired somewhere between applying for a green card, having the interview, and waiting for it to arrive in the mail. This is EXTREMELY common since the green card process takes so long and short term visas are for 1 year max. I can’t imagine living this scenario. Pure cruelty.

You can tell they didn’t consult leadership at BOP, who has been supportive of efforts to build ties between those incarcerated in fed prisons & their families. These ties lead to reduced recidivism and better reintegration upon release. Everyone knows this. The policy change is deliberately cruel

Trump Administration Live Updates: President to Deploy National Guard in Washington, D.C.

Let’s be clear about what’s happening. Violent crime in DC is at a 30-year low. There is no emergency. This is a test run. If the courts, Congress, and the rest of us let him get away with this, he’ll do it in every city that doesn’t capitulate to him.

The rise of the Christian nationalist tech bro is no joke and this won’t be the only community they try to build. I really appreciate the GOAT Phil Williams for staying on top of this story for years.

Forensics Fraud? Experts say this video shows a doctor manufacturing evidence. So why is a man still on death row?

Currently in Monroe, Louisiana for Chris Duncan's bail hearing. After 27 years on death row, he's asking a judge to let him out. 16 years ago I reported on a video showing forensic charlatan Michael West using a mold of Duncan's teeth to create bite marks on the corpse of a young girl.

Eric Adams’ Chances of Getting Public Campaign Matching Funds Just Got Worse The New York City Campaign Finance Board is now looking into donations connected to an alleged Uzbekistani agent and continues to reject the mayor’s appeals for matching funds.

Glad to see Mayor Adams is back at it. The NYC Campaign Finance Board is looking into donations connected to an alleged Uzbekistani agent. www.thecity.nyc/2025/07/09/a...

Police who keep their identities secret are, quite literally, secret police. I don’t know why this is even controversial. You don’t get to yank people off the streets while hiding your face and identity and still retain the respectability of an accountable, democratic police force.

It’s THE quintessential American city FOR THAT REASON. He’s also saying this about the city with the largest GDP in the world 💀. An absolute flop

I really don’t understand why people talk about NYC like it’s a progressive city. It’s so much more conservative than people realize. Mamdani’s victory to me is a total rejection of the Dem establishment and their tired, scandal ridden, entitled politicians.

I don’t think non-New Yorkers understand how much contempt Cuomo displayed toward us. It wasn’t only about his CVS receipt style list of scandals. He never showed up anywhere in person, never shared a positive vision for the city, never took questions from the press, and still expected to win.

I don’t think it’s that deep. I think people can do many things they disagree with because they’re “following someone else’s orders” and refuse to think any deeper about it. Not sure if that makes it better or worse.

protesters surround federal detention center in Los Angeles

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

Ohio waives $8.4 million in fees for drivers. Find out why Ohio reinstated licenses for thousands of drivers and waived $8.38 million in fees under a new law that took effect in 2025.

I’m crying, wow. My biggest contribution to this huge coalition effort was advocating for retroactivity. I spent hours on the phone with bill drafters & legislative staffers to make it happen. Seeing these numbers is overwhelming! Not everything happening rn is bad! www.dispatch.com/story/news/s...

ICE is conducting raids on daycare centers in Brooklyn 🚨

I guess it’s not enough for ICE to rip mothers away from their babies, they have to take away all caretakers too.

Cowardly losers!!!!

Watching the Freud scene of the Austria episode of Conan O’Brien Must Go might be the hardest I’ve laughed all year. Tears streaming down my face. If you aren’t watching his show you are truly missing out 😭

A very smart & tech savvy friend of mine recently almost had her finances wiped out as the victim of a sim swap scam. Regaining access to her life has been nothing short of a living nightmare.

Americans are not prepared for what is coming.

Same with lawmakers who set penalties for fentanyl offenses. They don’t know how it’s consumed - many I’ve spoken to genuinely believe a speck of fentanyl kills any human and that no one willingly consumes it. They legislate according to what they believe to be true and we all pay for it.

Bill would require federal prisons to notify families of serious illness and death For years, families have complained of cruelty from the federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) when their incarcerated loved ones become seriously ill or die.

Latest: a bipartisan bill in Congress would require federal prisons to promptly notify families when loved ones in custody are seriously ill or die.

I talked to a woman last year who found out her husband died when his status on the BOP website changed to "deceased" reason.com/2025/04/10/b...

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “TRADE DEFICIT”—IT’S JUST CALLED “BUYING THINGS.” YOU DO NOT HAVE A TRADE DEFICIT WITH YOUR DENTIST JUST BECAUSE HE NEVER BUYS ANYTHING FROM YOU.
