There's a whole chest compartment that they could have utilized. They could have easily taken the front half of it turn it sideways then split it from the top & bottom to tuck on the sides of the cockpit. It's still vastly improved compare to the ER mold but I think they could have done better.

This is still an issue for me. Why couldn't they incorporate the Cyclonus style of hiding the nosecone?
