Kleine Geographiestunde.

I was asking myself the same thing and decided to play it in English. I found it to be very immersive even though technically the Germans spoke English. One reason that came up for using English was a nickname for act 3 character that works better in English than German (trying to avoid spoilers 😅)

Mein erster (und bisher einziger) Versuch scheiterte u.a. auch daran. Wie spielt mans denn „richtig“?

(Grund zwei war die fürchterliche technische Umsetzung auf Xbox. Im Zweifel könnte man ja nochmal alternativen sondieren)

Life is Strange: Double Exposure ✅

I liked Dread! Metroid Prime Remastered is a good version to play though.

Finally, the end fight is a slog, the main enemy villain dude has a laughable backstory / motivation and the final plot twist / ending is trying to be meaningful or emotional but falls completely flat.

I was happy I got through the end.

No magic left for the player to discover or make up their own minds. Not to mention they are somehow worse than Navi when it comes to guiding you constantly. It’s not much Metroid if your companions keep yelling at you over comms where to go next.

Then there is the obvious companion issue. Even if you try to keep an open mind or ignore them mostly they are written so flat and unconvincing. Everybody gets to say their one-liners all the time. They act like the wide eyed 8 year olds that spell everything out explicitly.

Furthermore, it’s extremely short (in game says 12 hours, I think I might have been closer to 15-20 hours) and does not let you really get into its world.

HOWEVER: This game barely passes as a Metroid game. It’s extremely linear, there is no real exploration or discovery happening organically and the game keeps hand-holding you all the time by spelling out everything constantly.

Getting the good stuff out first: The visual style is awesome! Playing in 120fps feels amazing. And the HDR is something else. Most areas are beautiful, and the level design is mostly logical.
