Society members, ✨share your shine✨ with us to be featured in a future weekly newsletter and on the Society’s social media channels. Share your recent accomplishments, published research, articles featuring your expertise, and more by emailing Membership@SocietyFP.org.
Celebrating our members is integral to the work of the Society. To that effect, we’re making 2026 the year of #Membershine✨, an initiative to recognize the many incredible ways this diverse, multidisciplinary community is leading and contributing to the field of family planning science.
It’s not too early to get a head start on your CME credits for 2026, which is easier than ever with on-demand Society Education, included with Society membership.

Last year, we launched the first publicly available national directory of COEs, which has since expanded to include more than 180 clinicians across 38 states and DC. Every new COE added to the directory represents increased access to this essential, evidence-informed, person-centered clinical care.
We are taking a moment to celebrate the incredible momentum of our growing community of Contraceptive Implant Removal Centers of Experience (COEs), clinicians who specialize in removing complex, deep, and nonpalpable contraceptive implants. (1/3)
Louisiana AG Liz Murrill bemoans that telemedicine Rx plus shield laws allowing Rx across state lines lead to 900 abortions a month in LA; some folks later go to emergency room.
Evidence-based witness from @prh.org later notes people are ordering pills BECAUSE states like Louisiana banned abortion
ICYMI, the Society invited Mitch Creinin, MD & Dave Turok, MD, MPH to unpack the “science” behind the EPPC paper, concluding, “The report is not a scientific study, does not represent any true scientific findings, and is simply propaganda that claims to be science.” societyfp.org/wp-content/u...
Telehealth expands access to safe, timely, person-centered abortion care. Calls to restrict mifepristone access by reinstating outdated in-person dispensing requirements are baseless, medically unnecessary, and unduly burdensome.
Fact check: Real, rigorous #ScienceSays that medication abortion care is highly safe and effective, in both telehealth and in-clinic care models. The evidence is overwhelming: societyfp.org/wp-content/u...
Third and final witness is Dr. Nisha Verma, an OB-GYN who provides care in Georgia & Massachusetts and is a fellow with @prh.org.
"Holding space for complexity is important -- but discomfort with abortion care should not be used as an excuse to distort facts."
For those of you tuning into today’s Senate HELP hearing, I’d like to set the record straight on AG Murrill’s testimony and remind us that #abortionishealthcare (1/5):
Another big day medication abortion policy: the Senate’s health panel is set to dive into the debate over the safety of mifepristone (spoiler: it is extremely safe!)
But because I simply *cannot* help myself, some quick facts...
At today’s Senate HELP Committee hearing on #mifepristone, expect a flood of junk science and false claims from anti-abortion lawmakers and witnesses.
Don't fall for their rhetoric.
Mife is safe, effective and backed by 25 years of rigorous research.
