Tonight is the maiden voyage for my new hiking boots. I destroyed my old pair by hiking many, many miles in them. It's just below freezing tonight, perfect weather for my usual 5 miles. I'll destroy the new pair, as well!

My new hiking boots arrive today. They replace the boots that I just wore out. I WORE OUT HIKING BOOTS.

Last year I couldn't check the mail without losing my breath. Today I fast-walk 5 miles a day, at least 5 nights a week. I'm 70 pounds lighter. I feel like a living, breathing miracle.

That is EXACTLY my train of thought at night!
