2025 has just been the year of the centre giving way to the right. The liberals making an austerity budget in Canada, the Democrats giving up unprompted to massive healthcare cuts, Kier Starmer existing. Hopefully people can clue the fuck in on who these folks actually serve.

Leaders are partly at fault for the actions of their subordinates. That's sorta how leadership works.

1. I can't vote in American elections.
2. It is no one's duty to vote for your preferred candidate. It is the job of the candidate to earn the confidence of the people. Did y'all learn nothing from the wins you just got? From Mamdani kicking the establishment dem Cuomo to the curb in brutal fashion?

Schumer is their leader. If he were good at being their leader, they would not have voted the way they did. That is the purpose of a leader, to muster and organize.

You can blame both the individual and their leader, as that's sorta the point of a leader, to lead, a thing Schumer has failed to do.

If you have no one to vote for, don't vote. A better message is sent by upping the opt out stat than by adding another increment to a party you don't actually believe in. Thanks to FPTP your vote doesn't matter more than as a statistic most places anyways.

Most Canadians will say the same thing, which is that we're just the states with healthcare.

I've been having some major emotional troubles since some bad news came down about my dad's health, so it's hard for me to be too happy about anything right now, but these election results are certainly not hurting.

I went to NYC for vacation basically exactly 1 year ago today. I can absolutely see how it can be the epicentre for actual good things starting to happen across NA.

My dad has cancer, has for a decade. He's likely to die in the next 2 years at some point. It is times like these where I understand the desire to believe in an afterlife where my father will be rewarded and Dick Cheney will burn.

My mom's a hoarder, my dad stims with "I need more money." And has over 1000 books in the house. They are both 72 and have done the "you can't have it cause I don't" thing to me.

Man, it feels weird being in a state of emotional crisis right now cause so many people are in much more physical and fiscal states of crisis. Feels straight up strange asking for emotional support when others need direct support.

Losing, or being in the process of losing, someone close to you really does put a lot of this shit into perspective. Instead of chiming in on the most recent drama, I advise telling someone you love that you love them. It's a much more valuable contribution.
