A version of 'git status', but it would be 'dev status' and it would tell you how far ahead the code is of your understanding of it.
Signs that there's at least one nerd in your household: The proposal is on the table to create commonly used documents (and templates) in $markupLanguage and put them in git, so everybody can use their own version, and even could fork the repo.

Never been an 🍏 fanboy, quite the oppsite, I quite like the Google products, but the Apple hardware is great, integration with the software, stuff working across devices, battery life.
