I think it's possible to have full mechanical understanding while retaining awe of mystery.
In Dark Souls, knowing precisely where an item is, changes nothing but deepens engagement.
In DnD, having no information about boss' attack pattern does not make it more magical.

I think that writing specific category of lore entries from an omniscient perspective helps.
It lets you give the players information their characters could never obtain, and provides a short glimpse into the "big picture" with gods and cosmology without turning it mundane.

I'm playing entirely offline.
As for enemy spam, I'm just running past. The only time I ever felt the need to do that, aside from boss runbacks.

I really enjoy the base game.
It is definitely my favourite of the three.
DLCs, however, are about as terrible as DS1's DLC.

If you played DLCs for Dark Souls 2, do you have any advice?
So far, it's just "what if we made the regular guy Extra Tough and put a bunch of them at once everywhere".
And all I'm seeing online is people praising these.

This looks like a magic item providing Protection from G-Shock.

I was expecting it to be more spidery, great to see that it's not.

Furthermore, some types of music and dance -require- doing it with other people.

But birds and bees are also trying to get good at their activities!

But like, you can achieve all that and more by simply installing the functional version.

All three of these sound like real games.

For the longest time, I associated its title with a vague idea of an anime about being trapped in a videogame that is also a fantasy world.

I actually blame John Blanche, specifically.
By the openly fascist 3rd edition, he was in charge of art direction – and was motivated entirely by marketing purposes, with no artistic intent beyond making it appeal to the presumed audience.
