1) Talk loudly about humanities research and public programming

NEH just sent new guidance about terminated awards that includes the following: "7. Appeals--NEH is not offering a means of dispute resolution"

Yet that is clearly at odds with the Terms & Conditions for Orgs governing our awards. They are trying to discourage appeals. Submit them anyway.

I am leading a bipartisan and bicameral effort to denounce the dismantling of the National Endowment for the Humanities and to demand POTUS and NEH Acting Director Michael McDonald restore funding for grant recipients.

@duckworth.senate.gov @durbin.senate.gov we need you to speak up for the NEH! So far, DOGE has terminated 43 grants in the state of IL, totaling ~$11.7M dollars. That is less than one thousandth of the federal budget, but it makes a HUGE difference for our state! Please help us protect this agency!

Absolutely. They’ll be getting lots of feedback through email and phone calls now. The lack of awareness/care about the extractivist nature of AI or what it means to impose this on such a diverse student population/overworked faculty is shocking even for this admin.

The CSU's literally *shutting majors & firing faculty* at the same time as it *pays multi-millions to Silicon Valley companies* for this climate-disaster plagiarism machine. It's unconscionable. The money (state money!) is being siphoned from students/faculty, for the CSU to be tech bro paradise.
