I've been looking to get away from google too, esp for my data storage. What's eerie to me is that the big bad MS from the 90s seems to still want my money, which no longer sounds as evil as google, which wants my data. If I'm not paying for it, am I the product?

Not to be Capn Buzzkill but I used LibreOffice for edits until my latest when the file went back and forth and in one of the conversions to word we lost a bunch of comments and the production team was mad at me.

Otoh, I love scrivener and the learning curve was worth it.

My level of tech-change-burnout: I freaked out bcs the company I pay for web hosting changed & when I logged in to update my site, everything looked different. I asked my programmer friend to sit with me to figure it out. The problem? I logged into the web host, not wordpress, where I edit the site.

LUCE Immigrant Justice Network of MA

I signed up with the LUCE Immigrant Justice Network in Massachusetts, but there's probably something near you. They're also looking for hotline staffers, esp. multilingual folk. Now is the time to develop the networks. OK, it's past the time, but now is the best we've got.

I just signed up for an ICE verifier training. It's a great match for me as a white US citizen with a flexible schedule who hates ICE. Verifiers follow up on sightings. Either it's not ICE and people can go about their day or it is ICE and they know they're being watched. Is it a match for you too?

And just to bring home the point, after she did that, she got into conversation with it and started asking it silly questions until she realized she was being sucked in and it is unsafe. Cat, I farted. (In French: Chat, j'ai pété.)

The most OOOOOF story I have heard about it is my disabled friend who fed it her doctor's notes and had it reference only medical journals or some such, and ended up with a really useful and digestible summary of her symptoms and prognosis. It *could* be an access tool. But instead it is evil.

Toxicologist here! This will improve the health of zero Americans. Current synthetic food dyes are not causing health problems, and are often times used because they are actually safer than natural food dyes. Reminder that guns are the #1 cause of death of children but we are going to ban food dyes.
