There is far more to the NYPD surveillance system than DAS & the disbanded demographics unit. POST act disclosures of surveillance tech have been minimal & NYPD IG which could help shed light weakened. These need fixing for starters.

They have monitored Black Lives Matter, Environmental Protestors, Socialist Gun Owners, racial justice activists, anti-ICE demonstrations. The list is long.

A lot of this was informant driven, but now has moved mostly online. But it wasn't just the NYPD, the FBI was doing the same things. It just didn't get the same level of heat.
