31.07.2025 02:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I've been playing around with @avohq.io for the past few days and really digging it, especially how declarative it is. My favorite part is not having to build any of the CMS functionality myself.

22.07.2025 13:19 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The current state of AI coding reminds me the of the JS Frameworks era of the past decade. A new way of doing things every week. That's why I like Rails, it has been more or less the same for the past 20 years. I keep AI in a separate window for the occasional question, but that's pretty much it.

18.07.2025 09:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Like Yossarian in Catch-22, I imagine people throbbing with a mighty sense of accomplishment each time they gaze at their own AI generated work, reflecting that none of the work that had gone into it was theirs.
17.07.2025 00:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is also entirely possible that AI might get so good that my whole point becomes moot.
16.07.2025 23:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thought-provoking post but it takes a very broad, almost dismissive view of the term "quality". Just because most people fail to define what it is or succeed despite lack of it, does not mean it's useless to set a high benchmark for success and strive to achieve it.
16.07.2025 23:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fair point. You could make the same argument for design or copy too. Creative work is getting commoditized faster with AI. Great for cutting costs and eliminating mediocrity, but there will always be demand for top quality work, and that demand will increase when all AI work looks and feels the same.
16.07.2025 23:06 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Possibly. But businesses have been trying (and failing) to industrialize software development since the early days of computing. There will always be mass-produced, low quality software, but writing software is ultimately creative in nature and there will always be demand for craftsmanship.
16.07.2025 11:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Authors that don't use AI to write, developers that can code without agents, video producers that choose raw and authentic over glossy and edited will be in higher demand.
16.07.2025 10:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Spend any amount of time on Linkedin to see this in action. People who can't string two words together to save their lives are now publishing "thought pieces" and turning mundane daily events into "leadership insights" using the same formula. It's intolerable.
16.07.2025 10:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As AI gets better, it will be increasingly difficult to differentiate "real" from "generated". This will put a premium on authenticity, the same way you can get a $25 chef knife from Ikea, but people (me) still spend $250 for a hand-forged Japanese knife.
16.07.2025 10:06 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 2This is incredibly exciting, can't wait to see how it evolves. Thanks for the slides and all the hard work!

04.07.2025 12:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, pretty much. There's no algo to satisfy here for reach (at least not yet), and no revenue sharing to exploit. That leaves mostly people who just connect and chat, and I like it that way. Enjoy it while it lasts, before the inevitable enshittification creeps in.
03.07.2025 06:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I feel like people there reply because "engagement", whereas here, there's no reason to reply unless you have something to say.
03.07.2025 00:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This was a super inspiring story to read, congratulations Kyle!
02.07.2025 14:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Because they can't easily measure or attribute the value of brand advertising, and therefore conclude it has little or no value. Which is completely wrong.
26.06.2025 22:54 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm reading this for the second time right now and loving it. Incredible that it was written before all the AI hype.

15.06.2025 07:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I sometimes do this. Then I realize that I'm at a co-working space.
12.06.2025 11:05 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Excellent post. Tech industry vastly overestimates how much the average person wants to spend time on a computer, let alone build an app. Also the majority of "AI will replace developers" narrative is driven by VCs who have invested billions in AI companies.
10.06.2025 01:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was wondering why the Open Graph image for craft.tattoo didn't show up on @bsky.app. Turns out it was the "allow_browser" method enabled by default in Rails 8. Disabled it and we're back in the game.
