I just released Herb v0.4.3! 🎉

It's been another super productive week for Herb! This week I mostly focused on improving the formatter and fixing bugs in general!

It's starting to take shape and feels great to use! I really love where this is going! ❤️

I agree 💯. Would you have some recommendations ?
One way I see would be to have some faceted search directly from the talks index so that we could from that page filter by topics

I think that an achievement for @rubyevents.org is that I see more and more people sharing links to a talk on RubyEvents rather than YouTube

Our biggest real life stress test came from AI bots that really like crawling the site for the video transcribe. but nothing real fancy. 10/20 req per sec.
All is served from a 2vCPU VPS at 4€/per month

They are indeed not a lot of writes in RubyEvents. The only real write happening comes from the Ahoy gem as we collect our own analytics. So every page visit generate a write in the ahoy_events table.

Great to see @adrienpoly.com and @marcoroth.dev with Ruby Video trending on trending on HN today after the Ruby Concurrency talk by @jpcamara.com hit the top spot yesterday.

Ruby’s having a good run right now and it’s not even Christmas yet!

It seems the router (eero) was blocking the site. We reported it to hopefully add it to the approved list of sites

It is now live in prod will get a look tomorrow at @appsignal.com to see if we had any free performance improvements 😋

Ok this wasn't expected...

I removed spring from my main app. We got to a point where our boot is much faster thanks to Rails 8 and some optimisations, so spring wasn't worth anymore.

Unexpected consequence our CI on Github went from about 10min down to 7min 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯.
