There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows

original SH is a different beast from the rest of the series. It's gotta be greasy and hellish and rotten and eerie and foreboding and nasty. It needs to feel like an early 80s Dean Koontz or King book.

i will say also dont discredit cheaper headphones as being bad sound, you can find some decent or even pretty good stuff out there. its all based around the same tech, and the pricier stuff is usually just branding in the end. obviously, you can spend a lot on earbuds if you want to, but many cant.

the big thing is that phone batteries are replaceable, oftentimes pretty easily by yourself. TWearbud batteries are very difficult or impossible to replace due to their size and fragile internals, so the investment is less worth it imo.

ecosystem-specific stuff is another story of course but yeah.

ive gotten a few of Taotronics' different Soundliberty models and theyve been pretty good for the price. i think their website's a little sparce, so youd have to look on Amazon. Skullcandy can also have some decent options on a sale.

biggest reason for me is that im not willing to spend more than $50 for a device that's battery will last a maximum of 5 years *if you're lucky*. as well as the higher chance of losing them.

and you dont have to pay massive bucks for stuff like ANC or passthrough if you know where to look
