Yeah, AgX should be seen as this solid foundation on which you can apply your own tweaks and create your own look.

ACES is a bit too restrictive here (for me), as it already thinks you should have this contrasty look. But with most foliage heavy scenes, I want the plants to blend into each other.

I can't wait for the day the new texturing system arrives.

AgX tonemapping

Aces tonemapping.

AgX tonemapping was recently added to #GodotEngine , and with it we finally have proper neutral tonemapping! Notice on how with AgX (the left) more details in sky sky and the plushy are preserved, and how it looks less overly contrasty.
