I had lunch with a friend from high school yesterday and it was the first time I was able to talk about my dad's death without having massive anxiety. Baby steps.

Maybe it's because I grew up in a lower middle class area and where I live now is not that at all... but the way the parents here will pull their kids out of school for a full week several times a year to go on vacation (outside of school breaks) is WILD to me. No one EVER did that when I was a kid.
